Lesson 11 - Inserting Audio and Moving Images ๐Ÿ™ ๐ŸŽถ


๐Ÿ… For today's lesson, we learned how to add audio and make moving images.


๐Ÿ†There are two ways to insert the audio:

- If you want the same audio/song/soundtrack to be played until the player stop playing the game, insert the audio on the master slide. This will make the audio keep on loop until the end.

- If you only want the audio/sound to come out at a certain time/page, then you can insert the audio directly at the page you wanted it to be played. 


๐Ÿ’ Now we move on to making the images to move. Here is the simple way to do it:

- You will need to have two objects. (One that is in static mode, another one will pop out on the static object.

- The first object can either be an image, button, shape, or even a gif.

- The second object ( that will be animated later ) can be an image, button, shape, gif, text.

- After that, it is up to you to change the percentage of the tranparency, the type of lines, and also the position whether it will be in the front or the back.

Courseware Planning ☕


๐Ÿ‰ Before we proceed with our e-learning courseware, of course we need to do some planning at first. It is somewhat similar to a lesson plan for teaching. For the courseware plan, we need to have:

- A topic / Title
- Target audience
- Learning outcomes
- Lessons
- Activities 
- And reflection

๐Ÿ€ My group (Myself, Ardani and Syakiran), decided to do on KSSR Year 2, with the topic 'On The Farm'. Below shows our plan:


Topic             : On The Farm ( KSSR Year 2 )

Objective      : By the end of the courseware, pupil will be able to learn about the animals on                                        the farm.

Target            : Primary School pupil ( 8 years old )

Learning Outcome :

                          1) Able to recognise the sounds of the animals 4 out of 5 correctly.

                         2) Able to match the correct pairing of the animals 3 out of 5 correctly.

                         3) Able to spell the name of the animals 4 out of 5 correctly.

Lessons         :   → Pupils read the notes prepared.
                          
                                     → Pupils listen to the animals' sound.

Activities       :  1) Match the animals with their youngs.

                                     2) Choose the correct answer based on the question given.

                                     3) Spell the name of the animals given.

Lesson 10 - Smartbuilder ?


๐ŸŸ SmartBuilder is an authoring tool that attempts in balancing ease of use with power. Although it is not as easy to use as PowerPoint and not as powerful as Flash, but is it more powerful than PowerPoint and much easier to learn than Flash is.

๐Ÿฉ Our final assignment is that we have to do an e-learning courseware using SmartBuilder.

๐ŸŒธ For this app, you will need to apply some creativity by creating a 'hyperlink', this is where it uses trigger and action. 

If the mouse pointer click the button, it will take you to another page.

If the mouse pointer hovers at the button, then it will produce a sound or maybe change the picture.


๐ŸŒต Long story short, the SmartBuilder works just like attaching lego blocks together. It's colorful and organised. It may get a little confusing at first, but once you get used to it, it's kind of fun to do.

Lesson 9 - Using Canva to Create Blog Title


๐Ÿ‡ Canva is a free graphic-design tool website that was founded in 2012. It is very easy to use. It has a drag-and-drop interface and provides access to over a million ready-made photographs, graphics, and fonts. It is used by non-designers as well as professionals. The tools can be used for both web and print media design and graphics.

Okay, now let'start the lesson ✨


1) This is where the you can choose your customized designs. You can choose any size you want. 


2) Add some illustrations, fonts and graphics of your choice. Later, choose the format and download it. And you finally have your own customised blog title.


3) Now you can upload it in your blog. Voila ✨

Lesson 8: Powtoon ✨

๐Ÿฉ Powtoon is a web-based animation that can allow you to create animated presentations or videos by controlling pre-created objects, import your own images, provide music and can also add your own voice-overs. 

๐Ÿ‰In class, we learned how to make an educational video using Powtoon. It's also a group assignment assigned for everyone in my class. I'm grouped with 2 other friends of mine, Kiran and Dani.

Lesson 7 : Podcasts ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ’ฎPodcasts is a digital audio file that is made available on the internet for downloading to a computer or a mobile device, typically available as a series, in which it can be received by subscribers automatically.

๐Ÿ’ฎUsing podcast can boost a student's listening and speaking skills by listening to interesting topics and creating their own podcasts.

๐Ÿ’ฎPodcasts can be listened in the web such as Soundcloud. It is a social sound platform where anyone can create or listen to sounds and share them for the public. Everyone can listen to various types of genre that have been listed such as music, storytelling, entertainment, education, religion and many more.

๐ŸŒด SoundCloud ๐ŸŒด

๐ŸŒต It is quite simple to create a podcast. All you need are recording tools, notes or scripts, music or for background and an audio editor tool.

๐ŸŒตRecording tools includes tape recorders, audio software, microphone or even a smartphone (built-in voice recorder)

๐ŸŒตMusic and sounds are essential to be inserted in a podcast. It makes the podcasts feel more realistic or alive. 

๐ŸŒตAudio editing tools allows people to edit and generate an audio data. Meaning it can help with cutting and attaching the audio, adding music and sounds, set the volume, removing unwanted sounds and etc. An example of an audio editing software is AUDACITY.

Lesson 6 : Instructional Courseware Design

Instructional Courseware Design

It is about the creation of instructional experiences which makes the acquisition of knowledge and skills becomes mote efficient, effective and appealing.

It can be sorted by figuring the needs of :-

๐Ÿ’™ the learner
๐Ÿ’™ the learning objectives
๐Ÿ’™ creating intervention to achieve the objectives

There are 5 steps that needs to be taken look at for the development of instructional coursework :-

๐Ÿ‘Analysis : Identifying the objectives, the learner's level and needs

๐Ÿ’ Design : Developing plans and strategies targeted to achieve the project goals by creating a storyboard of what the course would look like

๐Ÿ‘ Development : Developers assemble the content and assets based on the blueprints in the design phase while the creators develop graphics and materials to  be integrated into the courseware

๐Ÿ’ Implementation : The procedures have been developed for the courseware and training for the facilitators will be provided to use the courseware

๐Ÿ‘ Evaluation : Evaluating the impacts of the courseware. There are two parts of the evaluation phase which are formative and summative

Conclusion

Instructional Courseware Design provides many benefits such as it can promote effective learning and also saves our time and money.

Lesson 5 : CMC ?




What is CMC ? 

๐Ÿ’ฎCMC is a process of human interactions via computers. It occurs to the use of two or more electronic devices. We can interact with people all around the world using online applications or devices with internet connection.

CMC in Education

๐ŸŒทIt started in the late 1980's and 90's together with the introduction of CALL.

๐ŸŒทDuring that time, we only used e-mail and online forums to get communicate with each other.

๐ŸŒทChatting rooms and also the long distance learning and teaching system were implemented during that time. 

Types of CMC

๐Ÿ’Asynchronous

๐Ÿ’Synchronous





๐ŸAsynchronous ⇨ Communication that is not synchronized. It means the message is not exchanged and replied immediately as other users are not available at the same time.







๐ŸSynchronous ⇨ Synchronized communication is where both of the participants are available at the same time. The messages can be exchanged instantly and it allows direct communication so that the feedback can be received immediately.





Collaborative Learning

❀This is a learning system that occurs by using computers as it can enhance the interaction between students and group work. It is not limited to just for discussion among the students but it can be a platform for the students to increase their problem solving skills by using applications such as Google Doc, Google Drive and even Messenger.


CMC has its own pros and cons.

Pros

1. We can connect with other people outside of our country. Calling someone from another country is expensive but with email and chat rooms people can communicate with people from other countries for free✨

2. Documents, pictures, and videos can be sent instantly. Anything from the internet can be at the tips of your fingers in a matter of seconds. 


Cons

1. You will lose basic communication skills. With the advancement of computers, people will start to communicate only through computers or devices and not face to face. Basic communication skills are essential for future jobs and everyday life.


conclusion

In my opinion, CMC is a good tool to simplify our lives in terms of communication. But we have to make sure not to abuse the comfort that CMC has given to us.
